You might find this helpful if the traps don't work, some mice are more clever than others, I swear by the Ultra, and you can just throw them in your attic and I don't think you'll smell anything if they die, they are quite small. I hope this website helps TOMCAT Rodenticides: Rodent Baits

"Trick" we used ... use the old fashion mechanical mouse traps ... use peanut butter (not cheese) DO NOT ARM the traps for the first 3 days , this give a false and initial sense of safety and maybe attracting more mice... this way you see if you get any nibbles and which traps get touched ... after that add a few new traps , spread further apart (in an effort to not show their dead comrades) and SHOW NOT MERCY -ARM- the traps ...
Repeat as necessary ...
PS: Crunchy or smooth peanut butter is your choice ...
