Please help - Primus DSL

I just swithed to Primus, and have a problem to connect the router (Trendnet TEW-432BRP). Primus doesn't provide support regarding router, and I could not get through router's service phone line. I tried reset, but did not work.

Any idea? Any help would be appreciated.

Maybe this is obvious ... But can you connect without the router? If you can then there's something wrong with the router.

I had the same type of router, it worked great. Your username should be something like my_id@1mm.primus.ca

yes, I can get online without router.

Are you with Primus? I guess this is not the router's problem. It worked well before.

Do a manufacture reset of the router. Then reconfigure it and try again. (Make sure you know the default admin password before you do this).

应该是DHCP的设置问题。首先确定你是Modem还是router发起PPPoE拨号。根据你的说法，你跳开router能上网，应该是前者，现在一般Modem的缺省设置是路由方式，即自身发起PPPoE。那么看看你router的设置，WAN侧是不是DHCP获取地址，LAN侧的DHCP Server有没有打开？要保证router从modem得到一个地址，或者manually设置一个和modem的LAN侧一个网段的IP地址；而主机要从router得到一个地址。

当然你也可以更改Modem的配置，使其工作在Bridge方式，由router发起PPPoE，应该能解决问题。

试试这个方法： 直接给你的路由器和电脑分配IP地址吧。

放弃采用动态主机配置协议（ DHCP) 管理内部网的IP地址。采用 直接设定。 其它就照旧，按照说明书改改相关配置。


分别给你的路由器电脑分配一个IP地址。 同时，电脑的的TCP/IP 协议设置中需要

将路由器的地址设为网关。

比如说，你设路由器的 IP地址为: 192.168.0.1

你可以设电脑的IP地址为： 192.168.0.2

每增加一个电脑， 最后那个数字递增就行了 。比如192.168.0.3 等


重要的一点就是， 每台电脑的TCP/IP 协议设置中需要

将路由器的地址设为网关。 也就是说， 在“ 网关” 地址那个空，

你需要添加 ： 192.168.0.1


每配置完，最后最好重起电脑。

This this would make the bad thing worse.

I think mybaby's comments make some sense. Please tell us the modem type. If the modem has a BUILD-IN router, it definitely not work if you add another router with PPPoE.

Suggestion:
1. Check if your modem has a build in router. If yes, then your router need to change to Dynamic (or LAN) mode.

2. Or configure the modem into Bridge mode.

I was just too busy these two days, have not tried yet.

The modem does have a built in router. It is Thomson ST516 v6.

Once I get this done, I will let you guys know.
