Shipments to Canada:
As a Canadian buying from a US or international seller (the “exporter”), you are the “importer” of goods. Goods entering Canada will be inspected by the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) and assessed for applicable Customs duties, taxes and charges. It is the importer's responsibility to account for any duties and/or taxes, while ensuring compliance with Customs regulations in Canada.

I think it doesn matter whether you are going to import a "brand new" item or a "used" item, the only thing matters is thay you are "importing" something to Canada. In legal terms, you have to pay all duties and fees that you might encounter with. However, it depends on whether you are lucky enough to be avoided of thoses duties. Just personal opinions.

Good Luck.

Try to buy from sellers that shipping using USPS, less likely paying tax, even paying it's like 8% or something. Never use UPS, they charge broker fee and tax and handling and lots of other things, I bought a thing for my car for $49.95, UPS charged me $42.80 for their "fees" (shipping was free from the site)
