有树根，树还能复活吗？

买的房子后院原本应该有一棵长了１０几年的树，前任房主搞了块菜地，硬生生把树给砍了，但是树根还留在里面，突出地面一块，今年开春，树根旁边有新的枝叶出来了，我们把菜地平了，准备补种草。

是不是树还能活过来？不能活的话，有什么办法把树根除掉呢？因为孩子小，怕绊倒，或者在树根上面架个滑滑梯？

The tree is still a live. But problem is even it grows, it wouldn't looks good. You better take it out. I did it before, I used a hand axe from canadian tire. You dig the soil around it, if find a side roots, axe it, gradually work to the center. Even you only can take part of tree out, and is able to level the soil on top it, it is good enough.
