the sale price has to be agreed between you and the buyer
You give the ownership certificate of your vehicle to the buyer after you got the money.
You need to write a letter to explain that you have sold the vehicle to the buyer at the price you both agreed to.
The buyer takes the vehicle to a garage (it has to be certified for emission test and safety test) in Ontario to do the emission test and the safety test.
The buyer then can take the following documents:
·Your ownership certificate of the vehicle ·Your letter of sale for the vehicle with the price and your signature ·The safety test certificate ·The emission test certificate to transfer the vehicle to his or her name. Of course, the buyer has to pay PST on top of the sales price.
As a seller, you need to make sure that the buyer understand the vehicle is sold as it is and no return.
