正在做year-end,验房师指出楼阁attic中支撑engineered truss 的compression web, 没有按照安省建筑规范加固。here is the quote:
I have 2 questions:
1. builder said that the engineer report says it's safe without the required bracing and the report "supersedes the code". I' was taken aback then: if so, what is the code there for? my questions for our experts out there is: is "engineered truss" different and really doesn't require any bracing?
2. Tarion said that only when the City has issued an "infraction" ticket,就是中国人说的市建筑局认为违反规范并发出整改令，only then can Tarion intervene. So they ask me to go to City first to convince them that there is an infraction of code and have them issue an order to builder to correct.
I've got the feeling that Tarion is not on the buyers' side at all. 虽然我们掏了保险，但他们却与开发商穿一条裤子。请问那个Tarion的技术员讲的要市建筑局出面的说法是真是假？另外建筑规范可以被忽略么？

Ontario building code 1997, page 9-100, rule no 9.23.13.11 (3) states: “Where the length of compression web members in roof trusses exceeds 6ft, such web members shall be provided with continuous bracing to prevent buckling”. And (4)
“bracing required in (3) shall consist of not less than 1’4” lumber nailed at right angles to the web members near their centre with at least two 63mm nails for each members”
