Funny how you say that.
US and part of Canada are the ONLY 2 places in the world where countries are ranked by "total number of medals". I wonder if the times comes when China outranks them in that they will start including 4th and 5th places if it serves them better.

O and take a look at this:

...and carefully read the reader's comments section. How US counts their medals is of no importance; how you think their counting method is "correct" despite the majority of countries do the gold medal tally is just funny. You know, in ancient Greece, there is no such thing as silver/bronze, it's gold or nothing.

No wonder the US doesn't compare to China anymore... they are just striving to win silvers and bronze now.
