美媒：教训中国前，我们要先反省自己

　　随着奥运的结束，我希望西方就西藏问题对中国的指责可以停止了。西藏骚乱和奥运期间在北京的工作经历让我有了一种独特视角。我是在西方媒体和好莱坞影响下长大的，因而习惯于我们对达赖喇嘛的信奉。但在中国，我了解了中国人的观点。

　　西藏骚乱暴露了我们自己的媒体在某些问题上的盲目。诚然，西藏骚乱起因很复杂，但显然那是由藏人抗议者挑起的，而且他们相当暴力。但由于“暴力的藏人”与我们头脑中的固有印象不符，于是我们的媒体开始对新闻做手脚。西方媒体操纵画面，甚至使用发生在尼泊尔和印度等其他国家的报道，这一切不过是为了描绘一个中国残酷镇压的画面。

　　中国媒体揭露了这种造假行为，迫使英国广播公司、德国N-TV等道歉。但我们相信我们的报道是客观的，因而即便报道不实也还理直气壮。无怪乎美国媒体至今不承认歪曲事实。

　　中国的国旗上有5颗星，其中(4颗小星)代表各族人民群众。中国对西藏拥有主权可以回溯到几百年前，这也是美国和其他国家都承认的主权。对中国人来说，把国旗上的一颗星拿掉，无异于将我们的一个州（比如夏威夷）分离。我们与夏威夷土著人的历史相对短暂且相当残酷，并且存在一种顽强的独立运动。但我们的主流媒体及好莱坞活动家们从不谈论夏威夷独立，更不用说波多黎各独立或印第安人运动了。在教训中国前，我们有必要先打扫好自家后院。

　　在“西藏自由”和宗教自由的一片喧嚷声中，我不禁要问，自由跟西藏何干？在达赖喇嘛统治时，西藏有宗教自由吗？有任何自由吗？其实根本没有。我们所不知道的是，达赖喇嘛的西藏是中世纪的宗教神权社会，大部分被压迫的奴隶伺候着一小部分精英阶级。达赖喇嘛所统治的地区没有宗教自由、没有政治自由，甚至没有任何人权。统治者残忍，酷刑和伤残司空见惯,贫困和饿殍触目皆是。香格里拉只存在于西方的想象之中。

　　尽管存在不足，但中国的统治为西藏地区提供了基础设施和公共教育，为藏人提供了广泛的机遇和一定程度的个人自由，这些在达赖喇嘛时期的封建神权下是闻所未闻的。

　　中国远非完美。但是，我们自己做得不好却对中国指指点点，这只能证明我们的无知。（作者凯文?德鲁加，汪析译）

China is still a communist country in the eyes of many foreign countries although it is not anymore in reality. It may not be bad if China can make some changes to improve the image of China. For example, simply change the name of "People's Republic of China" to be China. It is neutral and simple. Taiwan would like this too. The flag can also be changed. These changes may not mean much in China, but can be a lot for the foreign countries.

Do you know how to make a civilized discussion, idiot? Anyone from China has the right to make any proposals. Do you know that it was discussed by quite a few people in China to change the flag with national flower instead of communist signs on it? Do you know that some leaders in the party even agreed to use China as the name of this country if Taiwan wants to reunify with mainland? Use your brain before you write something.

Do you know what the communist sign is? Chinese national flag has no communist sing on it! If you mean the color, the red color is a popular color. Look around, u can see the canadian maple leaf flag. Do you feel uncomforted about the color red on it? I doubt you dare to talk about changing the color of canadian flag.
