That's so sad. I had a case like yours years ago and before the end of third week police found my car and insurance paid more than $4000 to repair the car (I would rather get a cheque at that time :blink: ). So full coverage is very important to protect your wallet in case some thing happened.

Call police every other day! They would ask a company to tow car. You would pay the towing and storing fee.

In Ottawa most car are stolen by kids for joy ride.They would dump the car at roadside after all gas is gone. 80% of cars are found after few days to three weeks. But police may not call you right away, you end up pay lot of storage fee. The could be some damage like locks and windows. But most time still deliverable.

seems to me, it is not always the kids who stelll cars for joy ride. there must be some professional thieves in ottawa as well, and that's why so many stolen cars can't be found, no matter you report to the police or not.
