Timothy Toishi was born in Toronto, to a Japanese father and Chinese mother. While growing up he was put into private piano lessons at the age of 6. At the age of 10, he picked up the violin through the day school curriculum. He participated in the school orchestras, symphonies, chamber groups, and choirs while growing up. In high school, he began listening to asian pop music due to recommendations from friends around. From then on his love for pop music grew day by day. He would learn to play all his favourite songs on the piano and go to karaoke with his friends to sing them. He began composing his own songs during university. His inspirations and influences include: Jay Chou, Gackt, Utada Hikaru and Kang Ta. His other interests include watching movies, dramas, listening to music, singing, playing guitar, and studying languages. He is currently taking his Bachelor’s of Music at Carleton University and his dream is to work in the music field in the near future.
