if your friend really has the bug, and drug does not cure, the reason is her husband carries the bug.

i might have wrongly accused the husband (though most often it is the case)
it is also possible that your friend (the wife) had sex with someone other than the hubsband and she got the bug
then the bug passed from her to her husband
then the bug passed happily between them each time they had sex
whatever the case, both the wife and hubby should be treated
before the bug is eliminated, no sex other than between themselves
(or the couple stop having sex during treatment; after each is proven clean, then happy go lucky)
