The union representing striking OC Transpo workers says it's willing to go back to work in a few days if certain conditions are met.
At a press conference at noon, the union says scheduling has to come off the table and the city has to agree to binding arbitration on the other issues.
The issue of scheduling would be looked into by an independent consultant.
With only 18 months left until the next contract has to be negotiated, the union says it's time to go back to work.

It's a remarkable development after striking transit employees stormed out of City Hall Thursday, accusing city staff of continuing to mislead council and the public about driver scheduling. City manager Kent Kirkpatrick has proposed the city hire an independent fact finder to resolve any misunderstandings or misconceptions either party might have about the scheduling issue. But the city did make some changes to its most recent offer. The $2,500 bonus it had previously offered is now off the table, and the city plans to stand firm on its offer of a pay increase not exceeding 7.25% over three years. The city has not yet responded to the union's offer.

They have spoken the same shit couple weeks.

An emergency city council meeting is expected to be called for this evening to deal with a potential break in the six-week-old OC Transpo strike.
In a memo to city councillors, Mayor Larry O'Brien advised a meeting will be called as soon as his officials have had time to study a new position put forth by the striking Amalgamated Transit Union. At a press conference earlier today, the union said it was willing to go back to work within days if certain conditons are met.
"Although I believe this is a positive development and a direct result of our unified stand yesterday, it would be wrong to speculate in any fashion in the media until after we (have been) briefed on the facts by staff," O'Brien writes. O'Brien says city officials await written documentation of the union's position.

some people might have paid their lives for this long strike because of car accidents.
