there are some conditions for EI eligibility: for example, you are not qualified if you quit the job by yourslef...

When I got am EI 4,5 years ago, I applied more than 4 weeks after I got laid off. Just try to talk with the service Canada people, nothing to lose, right? The reason I got to them at that time is "I thought I can find a job after lay off however I failed that why I applied late. But I need some financial assisant from you to continue my job seeking."

If a 中介 is needed even for a simple thing like this, what elese a 中介 will not be needed?

1. 你在失业的八个月之内, 申请EI都有效.
2. EI的发放从你申请的之日起计算. 中间要扣掉两周. 这两周之后的时间, 才发放EI.
但是发给你的EI的总日期却从失业当天开始计算, 总共不会过一年.
也就是说, 如果你在最后的第八个月去申请, 你只能拿到四个月的EI.
