从上面三种尺寸车型的对比表可见：
· 日本车在小型车里省油较明显。但这种“明显”是以小排量、小动力、和轻巧换来的。美国车的排气量都是2.0升，动力都在140马力以上；而日本车都是1.8升， Corolla的马力只有132！
· 在中型和全尺寸车型里，日、美基本持平，GM 的部分车型还优于日本车。
· Honda甚至没有生产独立的全尺寸车！

误区之二：不用考虑安全性
如果尤其是车重，相同类别的比较，日本车都要比美国车轻60到100公斤。

After read your post, i did some research about 车重 between US and Jananese cars. I found your statement "如果尤其是车重，相同类别的比较，日本车都要比美国车轻60到100公斤" is misleading.for examples, if you check the Weights (curb weight (kg)) for 2009 Toyota Corolla CE, 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt LS Sedan, 2009 Ford Focus SE Sedan, 2009 Honda Civic Sedan DX, 2010 Mazda Mazda3 GX, 2009 Nissan Sentra 2.0 M6; they are 1235, 1261, 1190,1200,1295,1277 respectively. the ranks from heaviest to lightest are Mazda, Nissan, Chevrolet,Toyota,Honda and Ford.

when compare 2010 Ford Fusion HEV CVT,2009 Chevrolet Malibu 1LT,2009 Toyota Camry LE 5AT,and 2009 Honda Accord Sedan LX 5MT; they are 1440, 1550, 1500, 1468 respectively. The ranks are Malibu, Camry, Accord and Fusion

when compare 2009 Ford Taurus SEL ,2009 Toyota Avalon XLS, 2009 Chevrolet Impala LS, they are 1696, 1618 and 1613. The ranks are Taurus, Avalon and Impala .
when compare SUVs among 2009 Ford Escape, CRV and RAV (best 3 selling),their weights are 1572, 1597 and 1579. The ranks are Honda CRV, Toyota RAV and Ford Escape.

Overal the weights of Jananese cars are very close or higher than those US cars, the lightest cars in above examples all from US cars.

I am very curious why 老华侨 always says US cars are better than Japanese Cars based on some misleading infomation. i was wondering if he is working for a US car dear?

for those potential buyers, my suggestion is do your own research, don't simply believe US cars are heavier, therefore safer and worthy to buy. Things are changing. The weights of US cars are getting lighter and lighter while the weights of Janapese Cars getting heavier and heavier!

Please provide evidence (references) to above statement.

from a test i read, it implys that "Lexus LS460的刹车距离是68米" from 时速100公里 is not the fact. actualy it is "Distance to stop from 80 km/h.... is 25.1 meter" for Lexus GS300, and "24.7 for Lexus GS430". reference: http://www.aaa.asn.au/roadtests/reports/239.pdf.

so the distance to stop from 100km/h for GS430, is about less than 30 meter​

if a statement is not based on the fact, it is kind of misleading.

No. I didn't work for any car dealer. I respect the fact. So many times I see some people makeup some "facts" to mislead people (for examples "测定了从时速100公里到完全停止时的刹车距离。结果是Lexus LS460的刹车距离是68米，BMW 745i是25米，Benz S500是27米", and "如果尤其是车重，相同类别的比较，日本车都要比美国车轻60到100公斤"), and if i didn't standup to tell the truth, most people will believe that.

Again do you own research, then you will find the reason why 90% Chinese in Canada drive Japanese Cars.

他对当前市场的车型知识比较了解，是一个兴趣很浓的车迷，但好像是从事IT
行业的华人移民，并不是汽车专业人士。
其实日车，美车，韩车，欧车，（希望以后有可能在北美有中车）各有长短，存在就有其合理性。大家买车其实可以更加个性化一些，就像找对象一样，谁也不想找个克隆人吧。同样，满街都是银色的丰田烤肉拉ce, 自动档，冷气，电动门，手动窗，不加巡航，外加镜子下面放个中国结，也太那个了吧。
哈哈，一家之言，如果凑巧哪个朋友的车正好是这样的，巧合而已，不要拍砖

我觉得人的个性不取决于开什么车，尤其是对穷人来说。
