how part time job affects EI? (Please help)

I was laid off last summer and $1000 EI can not cover all my basic
expenses. I want to work part time but I worry about the income
from the part time will be deducted from my EI. Is there anyone
who can tell me how the Human Resource Canada makes the rules.

you can work 25% of your EI without reduce your EI income,
otherwise the HRDC will reduce your EI income, not sure how much, call them!

How about contract?

If I work for a US company but deposite money into Canada count. Is there a way still to have EI but less tax.
