Terminally ill Kerry Saltel gunned down his wife and daughter before turning the weapon on himself, police say.
Suffering from liver cancer, 49-year-old Saltel was found dead inside his Grande Cache home Monday afternoon, alongside wife Gail and daughter Erika.
"The investigation has determined that all three family members died from gunshot injuries with Kerry Saltel's appearing to have been self-inflicted," said RCMP Cpl. Wayne Oakes.
"Again, the RCMP advises that we are not seeking any persons of interest or suspects outside of this residence."
No motive was provided for the murder-suicide.
ORPHAN
Left orphaned by the ordeal is Linnea Saltel, 19, who was in Grande Prairie at the time of the shootings.
The Grande Cache community is doing all it can to support Linnea, said Mayor Louise Krewusik.
"It's got to be tough, tough, tough for her," Krewusik said.
"It's going to be a real challenge for her to cope with this."

Erika, 17, was set to graduate from Grande Cache Community High School on May 23.
She wanted to be a baker, her best friend Allyssa Lyon said, as cooking sweets was among her favourite hobbies.
Lyon had known the Saltel family for several years.
"They were all really close," she said. 'They were like my second family."
MOVE FOR JOB
Kerry Saltel and his 47-year-old wife moved to Grande Cache from Winnipeg about a decade ago so he could take a job with a local railway.
But about a year ago, the father of two was diagnosed with terminal liver cancer.
Together, the couple owned Autumn Stone Music and Books, and employed their daughter as a helper.
BAD SITUATION
Things weren't looking promising on the weekend, said their next-door neighbour Gina Goldie, who chatted briefly with Gail Saltel last Saturday.
"She said it was not good," Goldie said. "She was crying."
