KINGSTON, Ont. – Kingston police say four bodies have been pulled from a submerged car near locks northeast of the city.
Provincial police divers removed the bodies around 4 p.m.
It took them more than two hours to get the victims out from the water.
Parks Canada employees discovered the vehicle, submerged in about five metres of water, around 10:30 a.m. and called police.
Investigators aren't confirming where the victims are from – nor whether foul play was involved.
"Our protocol in something like this is to treat everything suspicious until you rule everything out," said Staff Sgt. Chris Scott.
"Finding a vehicle with four victims is very traumatic for the family and we're going to do our best to make sure we do a complete and thorough investigation."
