急问:Move in New house without Title

My lawyer told me that the builder did not register the title for me for my new house a week before the closing date. The lawyer told me that I still can move in but the house is not mine until the builder register from the city for me. They could not tell me how long shall I wait, but they told me to pay full lawyer fees and 20% of the downpayment before they could give the key to me. I made deposit more than 5% when I purchase the house.

Could I refuse to pay the rest 15% and the lawyer fee since he hasn't finished the buying transtraction for me?

I really appreciated that if anyone can give me some idea regarding this matter.

I think that you can wait for a few days until they get the title ready and make them agree to pay for the cost of the delay for things like your temporary stay elsewhere and/or storage of your stuff.

Talk to your lawyer about the risk and how to handle.

I believe that you can pay and get the key to your new house while your lawyer gets things done.
