Good Afternoon:
We are currently working on the following mandate.
Our client, a leading credit card payment brand in Canada. is a not-for-profit association with
twenty-five members and more than 15 million credit cards in circulation. With its commitment
to better serve its Member institutions, and leading the industry with the introduction of
cutting edge technology, we are searching for a technical innovator to join its team.
As part of the Emerging Products & Technology department, the Senior Technology Manager will
focus on the application and exploration of emerging technologies that will expand the utility
of the credit card brand
The client has two key initiatives underway in this area: Profile and Identity Authentication
and Chip Card technology. These are fundamental initiatives that will form the basis for new
payment products and services to the Canadian market.
In addition, our client is also working with or evaluating other new methods of facilitating
payment services that include: Proximity Payments; Wireless; Internet and Authentication
technologies.
The incumbent will be the internal champion for viable technology solutions and will liaise
internationally to develop and/or evaluate the most pertinent technologies to enable the utility
of the credit card brand for their Members. The incumbent will need to liaise with all other
internal departments to ensure that requirements adhere to local/international standards and are
compatible with current technologies.
The Senior Technology Manager will work closely with 3rd party suppliers to research new
technologies that can expand penetration, enhance security or enable new products. In addition,
the incumbent will monitor the evolution of all applicable standards that may impact the
technology and products employed or envisioned by our client and its Members (e.g. ISO, EMV,
PKI, IP, VIS, etc.).
The successful candidate will have a university degree in a related, preferably technical, field
of study with a minimum of 5 years experience in the credit card and/or technology industry.
The following are desirable areas of knowledge: related industry experience; knowledge of the
EMV standard; 3-D Secure (or similar products); Public Key Encryption; Profile and Identity
Authentication; Wireless technologies & standards; Mid-to-Large-scale project management. The
successful candidate will have superior demonstrable skills that include: project management;
communication; presentation; interpersonal; technical analysis; development and/or
interpretation of business requirements; and must be highly service-oriented.
