Help on: chimney checking

Hello All,

Sorry for not typing Chinese... Just reinstalled the OS...

I have a question regarding my house fireplace. Any suggestions will be truly appreciated.

My house fireplace has not been used since I moved in. Our nephew will visit us during this Christmas season and he would like to have fireplace working.

Questions:

(1) Does anyone know whether we need to get chimney checked before using fireplace. My personal answer is "Yes", but not quite sure...

(2) Should we check it now or wait until the time we are going to use?

(3) If we need to get the job done, can anyone recommend some Chinese chimney checking companies or person that we could contact with for this work?

Quick answer to your first two questions:

Definitely you should have the chimney checked before using the fireplace, and better to do it now before snow comes.

I am living in a condo with wood fireplace. And we have the chimney cleaned every fall.
