刚收到邮件说符合他们的标准, 进入他们的POOL, 有效期为一年...挺失望的, 都reference check过了, 还没戏. 不知在政府工作的朋友, 你们有没有类似的经验, 象这种情况, 我还有没有戏...谢谢了.

It happened to me MANY times...usually 没有戏!!!

Since the hiring manager doesn't like you/ur resume. U qualified on everything, just they don't like you.
U may have chance if another manager is looking into the same pool.....
 
First, congratulations on going so far.
Based on government hiring rules (pool staffing), you must be in a pool to be staffed for a position, so this is an important step before you are actually offered a job. Whether you will be offered a job or not depends on the positions available and the size of the pool (also background and position match). You may get an offer in the next couple of weeks or months. If not, do not worry, most of the staffing happens in the end of March or early April of each year (the starting of the fiscal year - budget). You can talk to the National Manager (or other title) to ask if they have positions that fit your background (in February or early March?). It is important to establish a good relationship with the manager.

This is not always the case, actually we hired 5-6 new people in this August. I think it is relatively fair (there is no absolute fair in the world).

[FONT=宋体]全凭运气了。确实是[/FONT]Manager[FONT=宋体]喜欢你,就能进。前些年我应聘一个农业部技术员工作,当时在[/FONT]pool[FONT=宋体]还排了名次,等了快一年终于轮到我了。[/FONT]Manager[FONT=宋体]打电话来问我是否有博士学位(技术员是不需要博士的),我说没有。再问“[/FONT]Are you sure?”[FONT=宋体],肯定回答[/FONT][FONT=宋体]“没有”。过了几天,他们[/FONT]post[FONT=宋体]了一个一模一样的工作,只多了一个附加条件:国外学历必须有加拿大的认证,递申请时就必须有。[/FONT]Job posting [FONT=宋体]有效期[/FONT]10[FONT=宋体]天。这一来,整个[/FONT]pool[FONT=宋体]自动推倒重来,我却连申请资格都没有。这招忒毒。[/FONT]

看看戴个什么花的, 能否帮忙弄到分子上去.
 
经验,运气是很主要的。
当然有人认识那就没什么话好说了,但这种可能性不太大,不会有那么巧的。

实力和关系同样重要。实力不够,有关系的人也进不了pool
 
我也有个问题想请教给位

我申请了一个内部职位。从email我知道那个人就在楼下。但是我跟本不认识那个人,也根本不认识那个部门的任何一个人。我应该怎么办?就坐着等? 还是想想怎么活动活动?:(:(:(

研究一下他们lunch room在哪里之类的,混个脸熟。。。
 
跟你个人的能力无关,关键是政府是否有钱。06, 07年经济好的时候,很少有pool一说,只要通过面试,就立马工作。现在政府缺钱,但是又需要人工作,只好弄个什么pool, 其实就是在等钱,或者一旦有人退休,有人离开,才能从pool里挑人。
