Duct cleaning: DIY or find professional service?

I like to have our duct cleaned recenlty. No such experience before.

Wondering if I can DIY by using some cleaning kit or it is better to hire professional service to do so???

If I can DIY, so what tools/cleaning kit are recommended? and How often I should clean the duct.
