8. 《YES. SAVE THE TREES!》
9. 《NO POLLUTION, GREEN WORLD》 Jenet Wang
《MAKING THE EARTH
A BETTER PLACE》。
13. 《REUSE THIS BAG 》 Ann Shiao
14. 《A HAPPY PLACE EQUALS A HAPPY LIFE 》 7 -10 岁组优秀奖,Carl Zhang 张丰博
21. 《A HEALTHIER LIVING IS A HAPPIER LIVING》 Tina Jiao
22. 《TOGETHER WE SAVE THE WORLD》 Angela Zhao
24. 《A PERFERT EARTH 》 David Wang (12
25. 《GREEN WORLD FROM RECYCLING》 Stephanie Wong (12
26. 《STITCHING UP THE OZONE LAYER》11 - 14 岁组银奖。
27. 《THE WORLD INTO MY EYES》11- 14 岁组优秀奖。
29. 《THE COST OF WAR 》11-14 岁组优秀奖。
Mona Li (李玥) It’s a great honor to be receiving this award. I believe that the theme of this year’s exhibition was a great way to promote environmental issues to young people by simply getting us to think.
The fetus at the centre of my drawing is there to make the point that the Earth is a very fragile thing, comparable to a fetus in the womb. Anything that happens on the outside of the Earth has a direct result on the health and wellbeing of the environment, as the fetus is vulnerable to all the actions of its mother. We, the inhabitants of the Earth, are responsible as caregivers to take care of the planet. We all know that mothers should not drink or smoke during pregnancy, and neither should humans be dumping pollutants into the air, water and soil. Whether or not we choose to face these issues is our own decision, but if we don’t work towards a more sustainable environment, life will generally be threatened, and frankly, everything may die.
I could tell everybody to recycle, compost and turn off the lights, and these are all good things that you should do, but what may be the most effective would be to put pressure on large corporations in the industries that are jeopardizing our resources. The largest factors that affect the health of the environment are at economic and political levels and really involve the use of money. Saving the environment requires a long-term solution, not something that can be achieved over one or two years. As is portrayed by the toddlers in my drawing, restoring the Earth to its sustainable self will be responsible to our generation of youth and those to come.
I’d like to thank my parents,my art teacher Lu Feng for their guidance and support. I would also like to thank my sister Lisa, for getting me to today’s ceremony. Finally, I’d like to thank the organizers for getting the exhibition going and for everyone else who came out to support the event.

Xintong Wang 王昕彤 Thank you very much. Receiving this award is an amazing honour. A lot of hard work was spent on this piece. This is definitely an extremely memorable experience. But this would not have been possible if it were not for all the wonderful people surrounding me. I would like to thank my Mom and Dad for their support, my amazing drawing teacher Mrs. Lu for her great coaching, and my friends for always encouraging me. Lastly, I would like to thank the wonderful judges who granted me this amazing title. I am grateful to all of you for making this experience possible. Winning second place at the 8th Canada International Children’s Art Exhibition has been such an exciting opportunity and I am so proud. Thank you!

I am very happy to have the opportunity to attend this event and receive the bronze award. I give great thanks to my teacher, Lu Feng - she is a very good teacher who has taught me how to open my eyes to find the beautiful things and how to use my hands to draw pretty pictures. I also want to thank my cousin, Sherilyn - she is my best friend. We are always drawing together and she lent me her color pencils, so I can draw a colorful picture to show you. Thanks to my Aunt and Uncle for picking me up and dropping me off every time I have drawing lessons. Thanks to my Grandparents for helping me prepare everything. Thanks to my Mom for always encouraging me to use my talent and my imagination.
This is a very good event, and I am hoping everybody can help protect the environment. We can build a very beautiful low carbon environment. We can plant trees to catch carbon dioxide. Many things can be recycled. We can use renewable energy. We can dry our clothes by sunshine instead of the dryer. There are many, many things we can do for our only earth mother. Let us do it together. Make the sky bluer, the sea deeper and our earth mother more beautiful.
Thanks again for everybody who has helped me grow.
Thank you!
