$150/month? Maybe that includes insuring both your house and a car. If that house is for rental, insurance premium will be higher than owner-occupied one.

I only have home insurance with their company.
You should go over the online quote and figure out what kind option you have to get more discount.
Things like:
close to fire hydra(within 150meters)
smoke detectors
no real wood burning fireplace
security alarm
Some company offers discount for dog owner
not home business(such as day care)
not rental
group membership rate(such as Carleton University Alumni)
