Hi all,

I'm currently considering getting Canadian citizenship. But I'm still not sure whether I should give up on my Chinese citizenship... Does anyone know whether it's difficult to get back your Chinese citizenship, once you have given it up?

如果拿了加拿大国籍不是必须GIVE UP中国的国籍吗？我记得中国不允许双重国籍的吧。
还是中国的政策变了？

中国国籍比加国国籍难拿多了，不是随便是个人就能拿中国国籍的
不过如果你有突出贡献，被当作国外专家级人才引进的话可以拿到

my biggest concern is that if I choose Canadian citizenship, I'll have to give up my Chinese citizenship. It will be difficult for me to restore my Chinese citizenship if I would move back to home decades down the road...

As you have put it, "decades down the road" Nobody will know what is going to happen the next 10 hours, a decade is a long time to worry about.

As you have put it, "decades down the road" Nobody will know what is going to happen the next 10 hours, a decade is a long time to worry about.

I'm considering making some changes in the next 5 years, including moving around within North American or moving back to Asia... Citizenship thus became an issue to consider....

My parents are getting older and I may have to move back to Asia to be with them for a while... If both me and my partner lose our citizenship, it will be a problem when we try to settle back in Asia...
