Urgent update regarding PC-1 Network Status:
Connectivity on PC-1 North and PC-1 West was interrupted as a result of the Japanese earthquake. Our cable repair ship has departed port to repair the faults on PC-1 North and PC-1 West. However, the ship is currently standing by in Keelung and is assessing the impact of the radiation levels from Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant in the area of our cable faults. The current status (subject to delays from the radiation levels) is as follows:
PC-1 North:
- Cable Ship: CS Lodbrog
- Status: Departed March 17 at 9:00 UTC for the transit to cable ground. Now calling at Keelung to assess the impact of radiation levels at the work area.
- Estimated Repair Completion: March 29
The repair of PC-1 West will commence immediately following the repair of PC-1 North. The current estimated completion date for the PC-1 West repair is April 19.
Pacific Crossing is doing our best to restore connectivity as soon as possible. Further updates will be posted on
www.pc1.com as additional information becomes available.
Service on PC-1 South and PC-1 East is unaffected by this interruption. We would like to express our sincere appreciation for your continued patience. Should you have any enquiries, please contact:
