Connectivity on PC-1 North and PC-1 West was interrupted as a result of the Japanese earthquake. Our cable repair ship has departed port to repair the faults on PC-1 North and PC-1 West. However, the ship is currently standing by in Keelung and is assessing the impact of the radiation levels from Fukushima Dai-Ichi nuclear power plant in the area of our cable faults. The current status (subject to delays from the radiation levels) is as follows:

PC-1 North:

• Cable Ship: CS Lodbrog
• Status: Departed March 17 at 9:00 UTC for the transit to cable ground. Now calling at Keelung to assess the impact of radiation levels at the work area.
• Estimated Repair Completion: March 29

The repair of PC-1 West will commence immediately following the repair of PC-1 North. The current estimated completion date for the PC-1 West repair is April 19.

Pacific Crossing is doing our best to restore connectivity as soon as possible. Further updates will be posted on www.pc1.com as additional information becomes available.

email can not be blocked, they can use different routes.

for example, blogger.com is blocked by GFW, but you can still send email to blogger.com using qq, sina, 163's email
