Rain barrel rebates

The City is offering a $50 rain barrel rebate to residents in the communities of Riverside South, Barrhaven and Manotick who are subject to the outdoor water ban.

To be eligible for the rebate, residents must:
• Live in the affected areas
• Purchase a rain barrel between April 27, 2011 and the end of the ban period
• Be a single detached, semi-detached or privately-owned row house, condo or townhouse

Residents need their original receipt to qualify for the rebate.
The application will be available online after May 9.

A rain barrel must:
• Have a minimum volume of 180L
• Be child-proof
• Be mosquito-proof
