Introduction of the troupe
Beautiful Sichuan will be performed by Le Shan Song and Dance Troupe featuring a combination of dazzling ethnic and classical dances and music. This troupe is a high quality arts troupe with great reputation. This Troupe was founded in 1959. Nurtured by this rich land of Leshan, the Troupe has developed a unique Sichuan ethnical style. Many talented artists started from here to gain national recognition. The Troupe has also obtained quite a few nationally honorary titles, such as “National Cultural Work Excellent Unit”, “National Women Civilization Work Award”, etc.
In recent years, the Troupe has participated in many national level artistic activities and programs, such as the closing ceremony of the 12th Paralympics, the Chinese Art Festival, the CCTV Spring Festival Show, the National Dance Competition, and the “Taoli Cup” Dance Competition of Chinese arts institutes and the “Lotus Cup” Chinese Dance Competition. The troupe has given exclusive performances many times to some important delegations with head leaders both in and abroad visiting Sichuan Province and has won their recognition.
With regards to international cultural exchanges, the Troupe has also been very active. They have been invited to America, Japan, Australia, Canada, Poland, Singapore, etc, where they participated in commercial performances and international art festivals for over a dozen times. The troupe has performed on the world-class stages as the Los Angeles Kodak Theatre, the Sydney Opera House, the Victoria Arts Center in Melbourne, and the Ottawa National Arts Center in Canada. They are highly recognized worldwide.
Through its unremitting pursuit, Leshan Song & Dance Troupe has become one of the first-class art organizations characterized by Chinese traditional ethnic style.
