My parents will fly from China to Ottawa. The travel agent told me that there are 2 optional transfer location. One is Vancouver and Another is Toronto.

Since my parents don't know English at all and it is their first time immigration landing. I guess they need meet some immigration official and answer some questions.

So which transfer location is better? What kind of questions will they ask? Any one can share their parents experience?

Any comments will be appreciated...

你最好事先帮忙写个条,write something like "Could I please have a Mandarin/Cantonese interpreter?"

Toronto is better

Toronto

Thanks the above inputs.

Does any one have experience about the duty free claim for the 1st time landing immigrant?

BTW, what kind of stuffs is worth to claim? I would like to take advantage of import something for myself :blowzy:

如果是的话,需要准备一个海运物品清单,然后在他们入关填海关申报表格的时候“I/we have shipped goods that are not accompanying me/us.”
