I would think you better return your item before your return period expired. They are probably trying to wait until your return period expired, then they can legally claim that you are not allowed to return it anymore. Is your snowblower a clearance or final sale merchandise? if so, you may...

Not only snow blower. One time we had bought something small, but realized we bought the wrong item, so we went to return it (it's not even opened yet), but they gave us a very very horrible hard time (not to mention their bad attitude). Finally we returned it, but only because we were screaming...
