sorry,in my opinion the pic shot with ISO1600 seems to be too noisy.the sensitivity in the digital camera is one of a series special features that made the DC differ from classic camera.it can as high as ISO 1600 ,or even higher.this high sensitivity, however,is one thing in commecial promotion,it could be the other thing in actual practice.as the sensoer in digital camera, CCD or CMOS has it's limited sensitivity and spectral sensitivity and so far there isn't one sensoer can match human eye in wide dynamic range.the high sensitivity indicated in some digital camera speciafication dosn,t mean the camera was munted with a real high sensitive sensor.actually,in most high end family use or sub pro use,the only manner for get high sensitivity would be design of an amplifier with a lowst nois factor and a highst amlification, make compromise between the noise and amplifacation.but the result is just a generational improvement, the problem is still there.最初由 dss1234 发布
You can compare previous at ISO1600 with this one at ISO100

Jerry, Thanks for your nice analysis, you are correct. ISO1600 has a lot of noise.
My original point is 10D's high ISO performance is much better than previous D60 or D30. I have no chance to compare with Nikon's D100.
From what I've seen, I felt ISO1600's picture is acceptable for web publishing.
