Obviously, if you have a powerful computer, Rational Rose is the best in my opnion.
Visio is commonly used as well.

用过Rational RealTime（就是原来的ObjecTime)，感觉还行，不过得想清楚了，那玩意儿忒费资源。

但Rose Enterprise 和Realtime，还有Modeler版本有什么不同呢？

Rose和RealTime基本上很象，这哥俩有点像lotus1-2-3和Excel的关系，不知道谁学谁。Realtime原先是Nortel开发的，后来那帮人从Nortel分出去了，做了一个软件叫ObjecTime。OT后来被卖给了Rational，改了个名字叫realtime。而Rational可是正宗的Rational嫡系部队。如果有可能，尽量使rose，因为和其他的rational工具之间的兼容性和互操作性肯定是rose更好。realtime现在的感觉就跟没娘的孩子似的了。

I think enterprise edition just draws the diagrams, but realtime edition simulate basic source code, right?
p.s. code generation based on the entities and relation, in C++ or java

UML's 3 inventors( Grady Booch's methodology for describing a set of objects and their relationships;James Rumbaugh's Object-Modeling Technique (OMT);Ivar Jacobson's approach which includes a use case methodology) came from Ratinal, so I think that Rational is the No.1 UML software products vendors. Other tools like TogetherSoft and Objecteering also used in many companies.
