"The federal government is aiming to eliminate 19,200 federal public service positions across the country, saving $5.2 billion annually"

do the math:

5.2billion / 20,000 is about $260,000

小计=10万

Payroll to lose 19,000 jobs as part of $5.2B trim

............

The government is banking on savings from three streams: a major refocus on programs and services; reducing red tape; and by modernizing and reducing the outdated back office systems departments rely on to deliver internal and external services. About 70 per cent of the $5.2 billion in savings is expected to come from operations.

The federal government is aiming to eliminate 19,200 federal public service positions across the country, saving $5.2 billion annually, and employees are in the midst of learning whose jobs may be targeted. Once someone receives a notice that their job is affected, a process kicks in that could see the person moved to another a position within the department or to a different department within the government. Not everyone who receives a notice will lose employment.
19,200cut is aiming to save $5.2b
