Committee approves $5.3M land purchase for south Nepean park-and-ride

OTTAWA — Council’s transportation committee has approved spending about $5.3 million on land for a 680-space OC Transpo park-and-ride lot that would primarily serve residents of fast-growing Barrhaven. City staff recommended buying land for the lot and a bus turning lane at 3311 Woodroffe Ave., at Strandherd Drive. The four-hectare vacant plot in south Nepean is surrounded by houses and commercial development and zoned for mixed-use development.
