OTTAWA — After rising for months, C. difficile infections at The Ottawa Hospital spiked in December, with 15 new cases at the hospital’s General campus and 12 at the Civic. The hospital has responded to the worsening infection rate by deploying new anti-infection “SWAT teams” it believes will help it respond to outbreaks in the most thorough and effective way.
