公司在Ottawa的team不大,只有几个人。Team lead是加拿大人,很懒,几乎没干任何技术工作,下午常在办公室打盹。人还算nice,但喜欢把别人的工作算到自己头上。Manager不在Ottawa,去年只来过Ottawa两次。Manager通过每周的Team lead meeting了解这边的工作情况。
所有team member都是SENIOR position。我是team里技术最强的,干的也最多。基本上是我确定项目方向,开发最困难模块,帮别人解决开发中的问题。
annual report要自己写草稿然后和team lead 一起评估,最后和manager评估最终结果。报告中我不能用“lead project”,否则team lead 一定不高兴。但如果泛泛说说自己工作,和其他人也没什么差别,我也不甘心。
求各位建议,能突出自己工作又不得罪人。

首先想提醒一下, 只有在你找工作的时候, 你的能力是靠你的简历和面试描述来体现。工作以后, 你的工作表现不是你说了算, 而是你领导和同事说了算。古今中外都一样。你要尊重这个游戏规则。

一般来说大中型公司的工作评估都是根据你今年的工作计划来评价。所以可以基本分成三类, 没完成, 完成, 超额完成。这是你需要体现的标准。如果你能体现出超额完成并且得到领导的认可, 自然会有更重的担子压在你身上。

对于你说的在组中的作用, 不是绩效评估的主要目的,我的建议你不需要画蛇添足。:D

It is too late for this year evaluation. Starting now, you should cc your manager on your emails (whenever appropriate), such as meeting minutes, progress report, etc. Your manager would eventually know you are the one DO work!!

Visibility is very important for corporate culture! Unfortunately, many hard working Chinese have poor visibility and many hardly work co-workers (leaders) get the credits.

Thanks for the advice. It is an opportunity to let manager know what I did. If I don't put it in the self-review, probably he will never know. I can hardly believe the team lead will say "no", if I say "I completed key components in the development, or play a key role in the team" as "LaoHe" suggested.

Problem is that team lead shadows almost all the outside communications. He is enjoy being a middle man all the time.

你觉得老何给自己这么写评估, 他的领导就一定认为他是不可缺少的么。

一定要发出自己的声音 就是别说的太过了,不然只会留下一个not a team player的印象。

应届毕业生cocky点不是问题,那是你自信的表现,但是不要忘了你跟别人一样都是打工的。吃点亏无所谓,尽量不要吃独食。可以多给其他人一些口头的肯定,就算对方什么也没做,也可以说这个部分在和某某的讨论指点下,完成的很顺利。对你有伤害吗?没有。
 
建议spell the facts... 不用judgemental/adjective的词汇 mgr如果有眼界就看得出来,ta没能力或意愿看你的总结你写也白搭。
 
As long as they could see the value in you/your work, you wouldn't bother yourself about the evaluation.

you are senior position. you should be able to communicate with manager at least by emails.
 
never work for a job where ur manager is not at ur location.
