The head of the cancer foundation that became embroiled in controversy last spring over plans to bring Jenny McCarthy to Ottawa for a fundraiser said she still believes the celebrity would have been “a very interesting person in terms of the exercise,” at the fitness-based event. “That’s what she is known for.” But Linda Eagen, speaking to a Citizen editorial board Wednesday, said the Ottawa Regional Cancer Foundation has learned a lesson from the strong public response to McCarthy’s planned involvement in the Bust a Move charity fundraiser.
