Maria Turner knew what she was planning to do was wrong. She says she immediately admitted that to an Ottawa police constable, but tried, in the same breath, to explain she was in a hurry and needed to get going. But the officer didn’t appear to care much about the senior’s predicament and took 20-25 minutes before he let her on her way — with a $65 ticket in hand and three warnings.
