职位招聘目的：



为华语老人提供看病或参加其他社交活动的接送服务。客户第一语言为汉语，因此志愿者需能够用汉语和客户交流，又能用英语和西渥太华社区资源中心的工作人员沟通。志愿者提供交通工具。按照$0.5/km 给予里程补贴。

职责:


一旦接到协调员电话，要着手安排具体事项：

1. 提前几天和客户联系并安排接送事宜。

2. 如有必要，客户上下车时提供帮助，或在医疗机构借用轮椅。

3. 志愿者无需为客户和医护人员之间的交流提供翻译服务。

4. 若有问题，及时和协调员沟通。

5. 在志愿者服务表格上记录里程和志愿服务时间。每月月底上交表格。


时间和地点:

· 依据需要安排时间，最好能够一月4次。

· 为客户提供从Kanata, Goulbourn 和 West Carleton 到Ottawa Carleton 区域内的任何地方提供接送服务。


承诺：

· 服务至少6个月。

· 若无其他提议，到期后自动延期6个月。


要求：

1. 在客户需要的情况下，能提供体力上的支持。

2. 主动提供情感上的支持。

3. 有效驾照、保险（至少两百万的责任险）和驾驶记录（driver's abstract）。

4. 提供无犯罪记录证明（Police Record Check）。

5. 参加志愿者培训。


技能:

1. 英语和汉语双语能力。

2. 良好的沟通和倾听能力。

3. 良好的人际交往能力。

4. 耐心，有同理心。

Volunteer Position Description


TITLE:


Transportation Program: Chinese-speaking seniors


PROGRAM:


Community Support


PURPOSE OF

POSITION:


To provide transportation to medical appointments and various social activities and programs. Clients will speak Chinese as their first language. Communication between yourself and the client is expected to be in Chinese, while communication with the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre will be in English. Transportation is provided by volunteers using a personal vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed at .50/km.

RESPONSIBILITIES:


Once coordinator calls with details of appointment:

1. Make contact with client a couple days before appointment to arrange pick up.

2. Provide assistance when necessary to client when getting in and out of the vehicle or to get a wheel chair at the medical building.

3. The volunteer is not expected to do any translation between health professionals and the client.

4. Communicate with coordinator any concerns.

5. Record mileage, volunteer hours and donations received for each transportation trip on your volunteer record form. Return record form at end of month.


TIME REQUIRED / PLACE:

· As needed. Preferably 4 times per month

· Transportation for clients in Kanata, Goulbourn and West Carleton to any area in Ottawa Carleton area


COMMITMENTS

· Period of 6 months

· Commitment extended automatically for another 6 months unless advised otherwise


REQUIREMENTS

1. Ability to offer minimal physical assistance to clients, if required

2. Willingness to offer emotional support

3. Valid driver’s license, insurance (minimum $2M. liability coverage) and a driver’s abstract.

4. Police Record Check

5. Guiding Beliefs Training

1. Both English and Chinese language skills necessary
