Hydro-Québec appeals for reduced consumption during cold snap

Hydro-Québec is calling on its customers to reduce consumption of electricity during peak hours on Wednesday and Thursday as it anticipates the province will set a record this week amid intense cold. In a release, Hydro-Québec said “consumption needs for all of Quebec should surpass 39,000 megawatts (Wednesday) morning, setting a new historic peak.”
