OTTAWA — The south end of Woodroffe Avenue is to be narrowed in the next year, once the nearby Strandherd-Armstrong Bridge opens and Strandherd Drive is ready as an alternative way into Barrhaven from the south. Narrowing Woodroffe just north of Prince of Wales Drive (and closing the intersection with Prince of Wales, to make Woodroffe a dead end) has been in the area’s plans since before amalgamation and the city recommitted to it in 2003, in an agreement with Minto over how the property developer would build an adjacent neighbourhood.
