Schedule for the day:
8:30-10:30 – Bird Banding Demonstration (West of the main park location. There will be signs directing you from the event space)
10:30- Opening Ceremony. Welcoming on Algonquin territory with a smudge. Lead by Annie Smith St-Georges and André-Robert St-Georges.
Guided Birding Walks – 10:30, 12:00, 1:30 and 3:00
Live Raptor Shows at 11:00 and 2:00
Talks on the stage from 12:00-2:00, and music from 2:30-4:00.
Ongoing: Bird Mask Craft, Bird Feeder craft, Face painting, band-a-visitor (people are the birds being banded), human sized nest building, and print making. There will also be a food truck and a cotton candy machine. In addition there are about 20 booths, hosted by local groups who are working to protect wildlife in the Ottawa Area.
