Gatineau Fire Services fought to contain a large fire in an empty warehouse at 999 Dollar St. in Buckingham Friday afternoon.
The fire began at about 6:40 p.m. in the one-level warehouse behind an empty store, previously occupied by Canadian Tire.
Firefighters were able to get the flames under control and stop it from leaping to the nearby building by about 7:43 p.m.
The warehouse was destroyed and workers will continue removing the remaining unstable frames over the weekend.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
