QMI Agency, the parent company of the Ottawa Sun, published a report suggesting Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby was arrested late Tuesday while driving a rented Porsche in Ottawa.
The report didn’t give a reason for the arrest, but said it appeared to be “driving related.” The thing is, the Ottawa police are denying everything published by QMI Agency. This morning, Ottawa Police Chief Charles Bordeleau tweeted this:
We have had no dealings with Mr. Crosby. @ottawasuncom—
Charles Bordeleau (@ChiefBordeleau) September 03, 2014
Up until a few hours ago, this was on the Ottawa Sun‘s website. The story, and the accompanying giant banner on the homepage, have since been removed.
In its place, you get this.
The Ottawa Sun also tweeted out the story.
That tweet has since been deleted.
