Several Metcalfe roads were closed Monday morning as firefighters battled a blaze at a decommissioned gas station and car wash.
When firefighters arrived around 4:00 a.m. to the gas station at 8999 Victoria St., the fire had already extended to the attic area.

Firefighters were forced to attack the fire from outside the gas station due to a possible roof collapse.
The property has two apartments, a car wash, storage sheds, a laundromat, store and above-ground fuel tanks.
A man who lives in an apartment on the upper level was woken up by neighbours and got out of the building safety. No one was injured.
A fire investigator was called to the scene to determine the cause and assess how much damage was caused.
Ottawa police closed Victoria Street between Yorks Corners and 9th Line roads and Yorks Corners Road between Ray Wilson and Pana roads.
