The credit card companies are making big changes this year that are going to significantly lower the revenue they take in from merchants who accept credit cards in an effort to keep the merchants happy. Several money experts are predicting that this will mean big changes in credit card rewards and bonuses.
I have no idea what the future holds, but there is a very real possibility that these $100 gift card offers will be on the chopping block. Only time will tell!

This is the best deal ever (again) on what is currently the best cash back credit card in Canada. You get 4% cash back on all your gas and grocery purchases, 2% cash back on drugstore purchases and all your regular monthly bills that are charged automatically to the card every month, and 1% cash back on all other purchases.
They are also still waiving the $99 annual fee for the first year. Cash is paid out once a year in November when you can look forward to a big cash rebate

I haven’t given much attention to the Scotiabank Gold Amex on this site, but it is actually one of the best travel points cards in Canada that gives you a credit towards any travel purchase from any travel provider - no restrictions. It’s also the top card for earning no-restriction travel points for gas, grocery, restaurant, and entertainment purchases. You earn 4 points per dollar spent in these categories which works out to a 4% return.
To make this deal sweeter, you get enough bonus points when signing up for $200 in travel right away and they are waiving the annual fee for 1 year too. That’s right, $300 worth of stuff with no out of pocket cost.
3) Low Interest - Scotiabank Value Visa
If you have some high interest debt, then this might be the card for you. I (almost) never recommend carrying a balance on a credit card, but it happens and if you already have high interest debt then getting a low interest credit card can save you money.
The Scotiabank Value Visa gives you a 0.99% interest rate on cash advances and balance transfers with no balance transfer fees for the first 6 months. After that you get an ongoing low interest rate (for a credit card) of 11.99%. There is a low annual fee with this card of $29 and unfortunately it isn’t waived for the first year but the interest rate savings can easily cover the cost of such a low fee.
