A cooking fire at a King George Street building Sunday night caused $10,000 in damage.
At 6:43 p.m., firefighters responded to several 911 calls to the home at 314 King George St.
When firefighters arrived, they saw smoke coming from the semi-detached building.
One resident escaped from the building before firefighters arrived.
Firefighters confirmed that a pot on the stove had caught fire and the flames extended to the cupboards, but the fire was quickly put out.
