New York man, 74, dies in Rideau Lakes boating accident

A 74-year-old New York man died in an accident on Mosquito Lake in Rideau Lakes Township Thursday, and police are still trying to learn what happened.

Vittorio Cipollari was boating alone and was found dead about 11 a.m. Thursday.

Police suspect drowning, but are waiting for the results of a post-mortem.

On Friday morning, Ontario Provincial Police said they still didn’t know how the incident occurred.

Mosquito Lake is part of the Rideau system, and is west of Chaffey’s Lock.
