Hwy 417 backed up after car catches fire near Woodroffe exit

Traffic on Highway 417 was backed up almost a kilometre across three lanes after a vehicle caught fire near the Woodroffe Avenue exit on an otherwise quiet Saturday afternoon.

There was no collision and there were no injuries, according to Ottawa Fire Services.

The cause of the fire, reported at about 2:45 p.m., was not immediately known.
