Environment Canada advises that Ottawa residents should watch for heavy thunderstorms through the day Tuesday.
“Conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that may be capable of producing strong wind gusts and large hail,” the agency advises.
The strong storms are expected to develop ahead of a cold front over the capital region south to Cornwall area.
“Some thunderstorms may become severe with strong wind gusts and large hail. Conditions will improve this evening as the front moves into Quebec,” the agency says.
